A homeless veteran was overwhelmed with emotion after receiving unexpected generosity from a stranger. Max Zahir, while refueling his car in Yucaipa, California, was approached by the veteran, Robert, who expressed that he hadn’t eaten in a day and was feeling hungry.
Zahir decided to take action; he invited Robert into his car and drove him to a fast-food drive-through to purchase a meal. Feeling inspired by compassion, Zahir made a commitment to meet Robert daily at four o’clock to provide him with food. As Robert exited the vehicle, tears filled his eyes.
“Nobody’s shown me this much kindness in a while,” he said, expressing his gratitude. Zahir embraced him but later felt compelled to do even more for Robert’s situation.
Truth is, if we’re committed to being kind, we would most definitely be kind. It all balls down to our mindsets.
