A kind FedEx driver took a few minutes out of his day to help shovel the porch and sidewalk of a mom of three who had recently lost her husband.
The driver, Brian Scholl, was out delivering packages when a woman walked up to him and asked if he could help her with a tire on her car. The woman, Leigh Anne Skoda, was trying to put air in her tires following a snowstorm but was unable to get the cap off of one of her tires, so she asked for help.
Brian said sure and walked over and helped her with her tire. The two talked for a few minutes, and Brian learned that Leigh Anne had recently lost her husband, and she was now raising their three children on her own.
Brian’s heart was moved by her situation, so after he’d helped her with her tires and she went back inside, he walked over to the front yard and shoveled the snow off of her porch and sidewalk. Leigh Anne had already gone inside, but she later checked her front door camera and found that Brian had shoveled her sidewalk before going back to work.
“The first thought that came to my mind when I saw Brian scooping my porch and sidewalks was, God bless him. He is such a genuinely kind person, and I know it was no big deal to him, but it really meant the world to me!” Leigh Anne said.
Truth be told, no act of kindness is too small. Hold the door open for the person behind you. Give a wave to show your appreciation to the driver waiting for you as you cross that busy street.
Smile at someone who walks past you. Even the smallest kind gesture can brighten someone’s entire day, so don’t hold back on being kind.
